I am a graduate of the Wayne County Schools Career Center and Wooster High School.
My wife, Cindy, and I own and operate The Bouquet Shop. We have been Smithville residents since 1982. We have two adult children, Melanie and Andrew.
I have served on Village Council two separate periods for a total of 22 years, having served as president of council for the last 8 years. I currently serve as Mayor. It is my goal to work along with the other elected officials and village staff to provide the best services in a cost effective manner.
As we face the challenges to upgrade infrastructure and services we will always remember the values upon which Smithville was built.
Liaison: Fire Department
My wife and I have lived in The Village since 2001. We previously lived in Green Township for 18 years. I am currently serving my second year on The Village Council and am the liaison to Central Fire District Board of Trustees.
As with all Members of Council, I am always interested in your comments and suggestions on how to improve The Village.
Liaison: Finance and Personnel
I have lived in Smithville since 2002. I am serving my 7th year on Village Council, currently as Council President. I am also personnel and finance liaison for the Village.
I have been an educator for over 19 years and I have 3 children. I love to spend time with family and I enjoy the outdoors.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions, comments, or concerns regarding The Village
I have lived in Smithville since 2001. My wife and I have chosen to raise our four daughters in this community for the small town values and sense of community.
I am active in youth sports, serving as an administrator and coach for the ladies youth soccer program since 2013. I have also been a soccer referee for three years.
I am currently serving in my first full term on Village Council, having been appointed to fill a vacancy in late 2019. I currently serve as equipment liaison. It is my goal to work along with the other officials to be responsible stewards of taxpayer funds and to help facilitate responsible growth in the Village. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns you may have.
Liaison: Streets and Sidewalks
Raised in Massillon, I graduated from Perry High School and studied electronic engineering at Stark Technical College. I worked 36 years in management, running several supermarkets and 8 years in marketing/advertising. My wife, Debby, and I moved to Smithville in 2012. We started and ran Medley on Main in downtown Smithville. We decided to retire and travel. Debby and I have 4 sons.
This is my second year on council as the Streets and Sidewalk Liaison and I am the Chair of the Planning Commission. You may contact me at email@example.com with any questions or concerns.
Liaison: Veterans Memorial and Police
I currently work at Schaeffler (LUK) in Wooster as the PM Specialist and have been there for 4 years. In 2014 I retired from Frito-Lay as a maintenance man. My wife and I have three children, one daughter and two sons, one who is in the 8th grade at Smithville Jr High and lives at home. I enjoy watching my boys play baseball and spending time with my family. This is my first time serving on council and I look forward to this new chapter in my life in serving the Village of Smithville. I am here to serve you, if you have any concerns, questions or suggestions I would be very interested in hearing from you.
Liaison: Parks and Trees
My wife and I have raised our two children in Smithville since 2006 and we have found it to be an excellent community to do so.
I have worked in the pharmaceutical research industry since 1995, after obtaining a Biology degree at the College of Wooster, where I also played football. I enjoy following our kids in their various school activities, walks with my wife, just about any sport and fishing rain or shine (preferably shine).
This is my first opportunity to serve on Village Council, after being appointed to fill an open seat on Council in the Spring of 2020. I currently serve as the Parks and Trees Liaison, aiming to work with others in the community to maintain and improve our parks with safety and fiscal responsibility in mind so they can continue to be enjoyed by all now and in the years to come. I welcome any questions or concerns you may have regarding our parks and/or the Village in general.
Members serve four year terms
