I have been involved in law enforcement work for over 30 years and I have been a police officer in Wayne County since 1991.  In July of 2014 I was appointed Chief of Police for the Village of Smithville.  Since that time I have worked with village officials, school faculty members, and community leaders to provide the citizens of Smithville with the utmost in professional and efficient police service.  If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me or one of my officers.

I have been with the Smithville Police Department since February 2015. I was assigned to the School Resource Officer position from January 2016-June 2018.  During that time period I also served as the D.A.R.E. Officer for Green Local Schools, Wayne County Schools Career Center and Liberty Preparatory.  

I am a graduate of The University of Akron where I obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree with a minor in both Pre-Law and Criminal Justice. Upon completion, I attended The University of Akron Police Academy and became a certified peace officer.

I went to college at the University of Rio Grande.  I received an associate's degree in Business Management.  I continued my education at the University of Akron Police Academy and earned my Ohio Peace Officer Certificate. I have been with the Smithville Police Department since February 2018.  Recently I was assigned to the School Resource Officer position for both Green Local Schools and Liberty Preparatory School.  It has been an incredible experience to work with all of Green Local and Liberty Prep students.

Prescription Drug Drop Box

The Smithville Village Hall has been designated as a drop off location for your unused and outdated prescription medications.  Acceptable items include prescription medications, liquid medications, and medication for pets.  To ensure privacy, please remove or black-out your prescription label. 

 

DO NOT deposit any hazardous materials, needles, thermometers, IV bags, aerosol care products, hydrogen peroxide, business waste or bloody infectious waste.  All materials will be turned over to Medway for disposal per EPA guidelines.
