WREATHS across AMERICA The Friends of the Smithville Veterans Memorial would ask that you remember Wreaths across America in the fall and plan on participating in 2018.  Information will be posted when it becomes available.

Captain David Tschantz, U.S. Army Reserve, Eagle Scout, Bugle Merit Badge played the bugle from memory: Reveille, Assembly, To the Color and Taps

Senior Airman Dana Keirstead is an active member of 555 Honors Detachment of Wayne County, AMVETS (American Veterans), Smithville Historical Society and Friends of the Veterans Memorial Committe.  As Airman 1st Class he was active duty in 1961 and 1962 with the U.S. Air Force serving in Germany during the Berlin Wall Crisis.  Sr. Airman Keirstead is shown here saluting the battlefield cross.
